Hetty Zantman photographer and visual artist based in the Netherlands.

Photographer, visual artist. Based in the Netherlands. Last seen in Cape Town. Started 1984 in Johannesburg. Photojournalist – Sunday Times, Sygma, Agence France Presse, Dutch Press. Studio in Cape Town – Portraits, Beauty, Interiors, Industrial, Film Unit Stills and TV Commercials.

Photography has taken me to places and spaces I never dreamed of being. I have worked in the craziest lighting set-ups from the glamorous White Nights in Saint Petersburg, to the tiniest lift in Paris devoid of any light. What fascinates me most is the soul of a place, the human heart and how these stories intertwine. I have learned there are no shortcuts to access this dimension of sublime beauty. To reveal the unseen I rely on intuition allowing the most profound images to emerge. The absurdity of life instills another unrelenting need to connect with beauty and weird imperfect things everywhere.
